Willis, TX, Aug. 17, 2015 – Willis ISD is moving from a six week to a quarter, or approximately nine week grading system, beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. In addition all grade reports will be delivered electronically. Parents will access grades, progress reports, attendance, report cards and more online through parent portal or the Willis ISD mobile app.
Beginning with the 2014-15 school year, WHS implemented class dues for the 2018 and following classes in order to eliminate fundraisers to pay for senior prom, senior picnic and senior breakfast. Each class will be asked to pay these dues, which will give the class operating capital with which to place deposits for their prom and picnic.
Willis, TX, June 23, 2015 – Willis High School Administrator, James “Buddy” Bush, was named the Region VI Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP). According to the TASSP website, school administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions and then applications from these recipients are reviewed by the TASSP Principal Image Committee who selects the finalists. Nominations are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership in secondary education.
