Willis DECA Students Advance to State

Senior President Justin Dolley qualified to advance to state for the second time this year in the Business Services Marketing Series event, Senior Vice President Andrea Rocha and Senior Edgar Castro advanced in the Personal Finance Literacy Event competition, Junior William Bowling also advanced to his second state competition by qualifying in the Marketing Communication event.  1st year DECA members also fared well in the District Competition.  Junior Michael Lowe advanced to state in the Quick Serve Restaurant Management Series event, Sophomore Michael Gregg qualified in the Principles of Marketing event and Jorge Zumarraga qualified in the Principles of Hospitality and Tourism competitive event.

These seven Wildkats have qualified to represent Willis High School in the State Competition in San Antonio and will compete against any of the 11,000 plus DECA members spread throughout the state of Texas.  Should they win in their respective events they will then advance to the International DECA Competition in Anaheim California on April 26-29 to compete against the members from other states and countries that make up the DECA membership of nearly 220,000 DECA members throughout the world.
