Helping Others

WHS Sophomore Cheerleader, Madison McVay, organized a donation drive for Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan's Purse International Relief. She asked her fellow Willis High School cheerleaders and mascots to participate by filling a "shoe box" with gifts for children around the world. Thirty-two boxes were delivered by Madison to Operation Christmas Child representatives. Thank you Madison!

The WHS National Honor Society put on their annual Wax Museum the week of Dec. 9, 2013. Each NHS inductee researched a character, developed a costume, and put on the display for all campuses in the district. Click on the headline above to see a photo album.

Winning Commitments

WHS teacher Gayle McKenney and the staff of "Voice of the Wildkats" wrapped up the first Celebrate My Drive campaign which focused on keeping teens safe on the road. John Crenshaw of State Farm collected donations and door prizes were awarded to students who committed to safe driving. While the school may not win a grant, it was a great effort for a good cause.

Congratulations to 5 of our Wildkat Choir Members who advanced at the District choir auditions at Conroe High School. Three of our advancing students ranked in the top 10 indicating great future placement in Region and Area competitions. Sing big Wildkats!

WHS Honors Members of the Armed Forces

Willis High School proudly displays the names of all WHS veterans on a Military Wall of Honor in the building’s foyer. The project was begun over 10 years ago shortly after the 9/11 attacks. Long-time WISD employee, Virginia Nickerson, whose son serves in the U.S. Army, gathered the initial names and has continued the mission of paying tribute to those who serve in any branch of the armed forces.
