WISD Moves to Quarter Grading System and Electronic Grade Reports

Willis, TX, Aug. 17, 2015 – Willis ISD is moving from a six week to a quarter, or approximately nine week grading system, beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. In addition all grade reports will be delivered electronically. Parents will access grades, progress reports, attendance, report cards and more online through parent portal or the Willis ISD mobile app.

Willis, TX, Nov 17, 2015 – Congressman Kevin Brady, the new chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, spoke to Willis High School students on Veteran’s Day last week. He talked about his life as a congressman with students taking Dual Credit and Advanced Placement government classes.

WHS Administrator Honored By Peers

Willis, TX, June 23, 2015 – Willis High School Administrator, James “Buddy” Bush, was named the Region VI Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP). According to the TASSP website, school administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions and then applications from these recipients are reviewed by the TASSP Principal Image Committee who selects the finalists. Nominations are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership in secondary education.
