I completed my undergraduate degree at Michigan State University. I majored in Elementary Education with a major in English and minor in Social Studies. I moved to Texas and taught 6th grade Reading and Language Arts in the Aldine ISD school district. The next five years I spent teaching 6th grade in Conroe ISD. While teaching I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling at Sam Houston State University. After receiving my counseling degree I worked as a counselor and lead counselor for 4 years at Kingwood 9th grade Campus. I was then fortunate to have the privilege of staying home with my two beautiful children for 4 years.
Finally, I found myself home at Willis. I worked as a counselor at Lynn Lucas Middle School for 4 years and this is my 4th year at Willis High School. I thoroughly enjoy working with students and parents at the high school level.
I believe my role as a high school counselor is to build relationships with students and staff in order to provide academic and behavior support, career planning, improve interpersonal skills, and effective problem solving skills.
