All About Me...
2016-17 will be my 15th year at Willis High School and my 21st year teaching overall. I currently teach journalism, newspaper, yearbook and speech. I also am very active with WHS's Wildkat UIL Academics team.
I started school right down the road at CISD's Runyan Elementary. My family moved to Montgomery County in the 1940s, and although I grew up all over Texas, Montgomery County has always felt like home. I graduated from Carthage High School in 1991. I used my journalism skills learned in yearbook class to finance my college education at Panola College and Texas State University. After graduating from Texas State in 1995, I worked for Giddings ISD, Cuero ISD, Giddings ISD again, Pearland ISD and landed in Willis ISD in 2002. I immediately knew I found a place to stay forever, and I love being part of the Wildkat community.
I believe that every student at Willis High School needs to shine. There are so many great opportunities and organizations for all kids at Willis High School. I promise to push every kid I see to be the best they can be. I love teaching, and I want students to love being in my class everyday.
Please contact me any time you have any questions about my class, UIL Academics competition or Willis High School in general.
