This school year (2016-17) I begin my 9th year in education. I began teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math, as well as sheltered ESL, at Ryan Middle School in Third Ward Houston. From there, I moved to Alief ISD and was a 5th grade science and math teacher. Something was still missing. Having a son with autism I felt like I had expertise that could be more effectively utilized as a teacher and advocate for our students with special needs. I obtained my Special Education certification. Wanting a smaller environment where my son would thrive, we left Katy, TX, in favor of Willis which brings me to my current assignment as the Algebra 1 & Algebra 2 co-teacher. I love being part of the WildKat family.
I have returned to school at Sam Houston State University where I am pursuing my MEd in Special Education with an emphasis as an educational diagnostician.
My conference period is from 1:30-2:20 daily.
