SENIOR MASTER SERGEANT CHRISTOPHER D. BELL

Senior Master Sergeant Christopher D. Bell is an Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) for the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program at Willis High School. He is responsible for the administration of the AFJROTC program at Willis High School in accordance with established agreement between Headquarters AFJROTC and Willis ISD.  He is serving in his first year as an ASI. 

 

Sergeant Bell entered Air Force Basic Military Training in November 1992. He attended Technical Training school at Keesler AFB, MS. He studied Guidance and Control Systems Technology.  His first duty station was McGuire AFB in 1993 working on C-141 cargo planes. While at McGuire he became a Due-in-Maintenance monitor as well as Base Honor Guard Member.  He contributed to over 500 burials during his time with the Base Honor Guard. Sergeant Bell applied and was selected to become a Military Training Instructor in 1997. Upon graduating from the Military Training Instructor School, Sergeant Bell was assigned to the 322 Training Squadron as a street MTI, later becoming the Military Drill and Ceremonies NCO garnering Parade, Retreat and Staff Annual Streamers. Sergeant Bell was named Airman of the Year at the Squadron and Group Levels for 1998 and 1999.  Sergeant Bell was again recognized in 2000 for his efforts winning the prestigious Master Military Training Instructor of the Year and the Gary R. Pfingston Award Military Training Instructor of the Year; for the Air Force. In 2002, Sergeant Bell was selected to move to the Military Training Instructor School. March of 2005, Sergeant Bell applied and was designated to become the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Basic Cadet Training at the USAF Academy. While stationed at the USAF Academy Sergeant Bell was STEP promoted to Master Sergeant. Returning to Lackland AFB in 2009, as a Section Supervisor, later moved into the Training Superintendent position in 2012. While at the 320 Training Squadron, his personnel took home numerous Squadron, Group and Wing Awards under his leadership.  In 2013, Sergeant Bell moved into his final position as the Squadron Superintendent of the 737 Training Support Squadron. Sergeant Bell married Jennifer Justis of Colonial Beach, Va in 1992 and they have three children; Christopher II, Nicholas and Olivia.
