Laurelyn Korfhage attended Oklahoma City University and received a BM in Music Theatre. After graduating she began teaching private voice and piano lessons, as well as choreographing for local show choirs and musicals.
When she is not teaching you will find Laurelyn Assistant Directing shows with Class Act Productions, cuddling with her Doxie-Bull 'Springer' (Go 'Stros! Go Texans too!), or knitting and binge watching the latest new Netflix series. Laurelyn spent the last year and a half teaching music to elementary students, grades K-5, at Smith Elementary in MISD. Though she will miss her little ones, she is ecstatic to jump back into the world of high school music.
She is very passionate about not only the all-state audition process, solo and ensemble, etc., but also about making sure that her choir is a family. Student confidence comes above all, so she strives to make her classroom a home away from home for all!
