The wall has filled up over the years and a second display has been added. Nickerson reports that the new exhibit will soon be filled as she continues updating her list.

Special significance is placed on those who pay the ultimate price of service, as in the case of Cpl. Joseph Daniel Logan who was killed in Afghanistan last January. WISD also honored the family at the recent Homecoming football game.

Active members who choose to submit a photo are also honored in special display cases. An American flag flown in a combat mission in Iraq , presented “in appreciation” to Willis ISD, is available for viewing.

A Veteran’s Day Concert will be held on Thursday, November 8 at WISD Auditorium, 1304 N. Campbell St in Willis. The choirs of Willis High School, Lucas and Brabham Middle Schools, will perform patriotic music and the names of veterans will be announced. Admission is free and the public is invited.
