Congrats to our Sweethearts!!!

The Sweethearts recently traveled to Los Angeles, California to compete in the Champion Dance Nationals held at Troy H.S. The Sweethearts competed with teams from across the country and came away being named National Champions in the Large Team Division. The team won 1st place in Jazz, Kick, and Pom. Overall, the Sweethearts scored highest on their pom routine beating out teams from all divisions to be named Overall National Champions in Pom. The Sweetheart officers performed very well by winning 1st place for their Lyrical routine and were named the Grand Reserve National Champion Officer Line. The Sweetheart Dance Company won 2nd place for their small ensemble, Courtney Johnson and Rian Wendt won 2nd place for their Duet, and Kayla Clark was named National Champion in the 9-10 grade division for her solo! All soloists received a 1st Division rating! The Sweethearts performed amazingly in L.A. representing Willis H.S. While in L.A., the team took a professional dance class at The EDGE dance studio, toured Hollywood and the Grove, traveled to the Santa Monica Pier, and visited Disneyland! The Sweethearts next compete at the MA Dance National Championships in Ft. Worth, TX. Dance pretty Sweethearts!
