“Coach Wall is an outstanding coach who has been a big part of the championship success at Lake Travis HS,” said Tim Harkrider, Superintendent. “He has a blueprint for building a successful football program. He is also committed to developing students who will be top tier employees, spouses, and members of their community. We are thrilled to have Coach Wall, his wife Anna, and their family join the Willis ISD Family.”
Wall was a four-year letter winner, starting quarterback and team captain at the University of Tulsa, then played Arena Football for five years. He was a graduate assistant coach at University of Tulsa for two seasons and coached in the 2004 Humanitarian Bowl.
His coaching career began at Lake Travis High School, where he helped lead his team to the 2007, 2008 and 2009 4A State Championships and finished in the top ten nationally. In 2010, Wall was promoted to Offensive Coordinator at Georgetown High where he stayed two years before returning to Lake Travis for four years as the Assistant Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator. He coached Lake Travis to the 2016 6A Division 1 State Championship. Wall’s overall coaching record is 128-17; 40-4 in the playoffs.
“My vision for Willis is that we would be an athletic program of prominence, but I will not lose sight of emphasizing character development and classroom performance,” stated Wall. “I have experienced excellence in athletics in my career and I know what it takes to expand successful programs. I am excited to continue this tradition at Willis High School.”
Wall is expected to report to the district after Spring Break.
